updating on how my boys are and myself.

Well as you can probably figure out by now if you know me that I am really bad at doing this whole blog thing.. lol anyways, Alex was released from the hospital in San Francisco March 27th to come back to Fresno where we live for rehab which was another month in the hospital for us but closer to home and I could have both my boys with me 24/7 there. Alex was fully released from the hospital April 17th 2009 after being hospitalized from January 4th to April 17th; he really didn't know how to react to being home again. Cameron who had spent most of his baby months in the hospital with us really didn't know what it was like to sleep in a crib so we had some issues with that as well.

As of June 25th, he has been walking on his own with little assistance when he starts getting really tired. He got sick really bad in September which has made his progress slow down a lot but he is still doing really well considering the doctors told us not to expect him to be walking or moving much on his own till between 6 months to a year after his surgery in march if not longer. He's getting good at walking on his own. He is having a little bit more trouble then usual with his arm as he had a lot of seizure activity in his hand before the surgery which pretty much left his left side of his body paralyzed till his brain started transfering the job to the left side of his brain. He will never be able to play contact sports like football or basketball or maybe even baseball due to the fact that he had brain sugery. They did say he may also never be able to drive a car because of they don't know how much the surgery really impacted his eye sight.

Cameron is a trouble maker from the start.. haha he wanted to come out and see the world at 26 weeks along. Nope not happening doctor stopped that one.. So he was born 10 weeks later still a month early mind you.. after putting me through 3 weeks of no stop contractions that wouldn't get any closer then 4-7 minutes apart but because i wasn't dilating the doc wouldn't induce me. At my appt to meet the Attending ob incase I needed a c-section done, we had discussed the possiblity of induction because i was at 3 cm but having non stop contractions that were timeable but until my water broke would keep doing just that. Anyways he said he wouldn't induce till i was 38 1/2 weeks which meant another 2 weeks of hell... But cameron not even a full 24 hrs after meeting the doctor decided that was enough and my water broke at midnight on the 28th of October. Five hours 24 minutes of labor and he was here and healthy. He was 6 lbs 3 oz 20 inches long and now at 1 year he was 22 lbs 13 oz 31 1/2 inches long. He's a very active baby boy.. he walks, tries to run and loves to climb on everything.. decorating for christmas has been interesting to say the least this year.. trying to keep him from climbing on the furniture to get to the tree and decorations.. we aren't even gonna put the presents out till christmas eve after the boys go to bed cause otherwise they will be in them and trying to open them. Cameron loves ripping paper too so haha..

I am doing good too. I am still going to school full time and hopefully next quarter will be my last as a full time student at least going to on campus classes.. I have 14 units left to get my Assosicate of science degree in Business adminstration with an emphasis in accounting. I will also be trying to go to school to get my ba but may take some time off to just be with the boys and get a part time job maybe.. Since I am now officially a certified Tax Preparer.. Just need to get my EIN number from the state of california.. haha.. wonder how long that will take me. I am working out again also 5 days a week either at home with the equipment i have here or at the gym that hubby and i were going to before I was put on bedrest with Cameron. I am trying to lose a grand total of 100 lbs if not more... right now my current weight is 246 lbs and I am trying to get down to 150 before deciding if i want to lose more weight after that. I will keep you updated and hopefully figure out how to add pictures of me and my family soon.

well gotta go.. Cameron needs his momma to feed and change his diaper which he is learning to undo.. yikes... and i think he's starting to get interested in the potty as he tries to get on the big potty every now and then.. so i may pull out the little one soon. Well thats about it for now.. talk to you all again later..

3/2/09 my first blog

My very first blog. I don't know exactly where to start on this but anyways, here i go. I am a married woman with 2 wonderful little boys. I have a 4 1/2 year old named Alexander and a 4 month old named Cameron. I am married to my husband, Phillip for 7 years and we have been together for 10 years.

My oldest son has been going through a ton of stuff lately. He was dx'd with Rasmussen's Syndrome and Cortical Dysplaysia on February 17th and is scheduled to have the right side of his brain removed on March 11th. It was originally suppose to happen on February 25th but he ended up spiking a fever of 104.5 due to the damn Influenza virus. He is still having a ton of seizures. He has anywhere from 1-15 a day since his first surgery which was to do a resection of the sensory area of the brain, that was were the most seizure activity was coming from. This dropped his seizures being at 2-20 a day to 1 to 15 a day now. His first surgery was on February 3rd but he also had a biopsy on January 6th.

Cameron my youngest little boy is a happy healthy 4 month old other then having asthma. He was weighed on the 25th of February and he weighed 14 lbs 6 oz not sure on how long he is now though but 2 months he was 11 lbs 15.5 oz and 23 inches long. When he was born he was 6 lbs 3 oz and 20 inches long.

Well thats all for now. i'll be back to update when i have more info or when i feel like venting about the damn doctors at the hospital. lol I have been in the hospital for 2 months so far with my oldest and will be in for even longer.
